247 Watch Prayer (January 11, 2026 – January 17, 2026)

(I) Intercession for the Nation

1. Entering into God’s Destiny — Thanksgiving & Cleansing

(1) Offering Thanksgiving
“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
— 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18

Give thanks to God for choosing us to be His children, allowing us to come boldly before Abba Father and bring every matter—both great and small—before Him in prayer.
We thank You, Lord, for Your abiding presence with us. Your living Spirit empowers us with strength that comes from You alone, guiding our steps and leading us in the way we should go, so that we may walk daily in Your light.

(2) Self-Purification and Repentance
“But who can discern their own errors? Forgive my hidden faults. Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then I will be blameless, innocent of great transgression.”
— Psalm 19:12–13

Lord, we ask that You cleanse us thoroughly, aligning every thought and intention of our hearts with Your will. Search us, O God, and reveal the hidden sins within us. Do not allow us to remain bound or trapped in sin, but enable us to walk in freedom and to live out the character and likeness of Jesus Christ.

2. For Kings and those in authority
“By me kings reign and rulers issue decrees that are just; by me princes govern, and nobles—all who rule on earth.”
— Proverbs 8:15–16

We pray that You would grant those who govern and hold authority in New Zealand hearts that fear You. May they not be led by worldly ideologies, but instead be guided by wisdom that comes from God.
Enable them to establish policies that are aligned with Your will. In this new year, lead our nation toward stability and prosperity, where people may live in peace, security, and dignity.

(II) Praying for All Nations

For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
— Ephesians 3:14-19

Lord, help Chinese immigrants to know You soon and experience the joy of seeking Your face through prayer. May Your Spirit fill, guide, and strengthen Chinese families who have already believed in the Lord; use us to spread the gospel back to our homeland and our people.

(III) For the Church

How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”
— Romans 10:14-15

Pray for the faithful pastors and co-workers of the churches in New Zealand. May the Spirit of the Lord fill them with wisdom and strength to faithfully preach the Lord’s word, shepherd the Lord’s flock, and may the Lord add to the church daily those who are saved.

(IV) Prayer for Israel and the Nations

1. Prayer for Israel

I have posted watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem;
they will never be silent day or night.
You who call on the Lord,
give yourselves no rest,
— Isaiah 62:6
He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.
— Micah 6:8

We pray for the leaders of Israel, asking the Lord to grant them wisdom and reverence from You, so that they may walk in Your will, not according to fleshly desires or human pride, but pursuing righteousness, mercy, and true peace, becoming vessels of blessing in Your hands.

2. For Venezuela

“Heal me, O Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are my praise.” — Jeremiah 17:14

Under President Maduro, Venezuela’s economy has continued to deteriorate, marked by hyperinflation, severe shortages of basic supplies, and widespread social unrest. More than seven million people have fled the country. With Maduro now arrested by the United States, the path toward restoring political stability will require dialogue and cooperation among many parties.
We commit the people of Venezuela into the hands of the Lord. You see their prolonged suffering, chaos, and injustice. We ask that You personally comfort the oppressed, heal the broken land, and grant true and lasting peace.
